Hacked to death! Perhaps not the best customer experience…

Joylab are finalists for Retail Week’s inaugural Hackathon at the Tech & Ecomms Summit this week. Brilliant to be in with some great company; Tesco Labs, Deloitte Digital, Halfords’ in-house team and the rest. The brief: we have 24hrs to prototype a tool to facilitate the ultimate customer experience. Blood, sweat, caffeine & pizza (maybe some tears late Wednesday night – no death) maketh great CX  – that’s what we figure anyways. Looking forward to busting out some great ideas and working up into a realised concept. If you happen to be there – come say hello, or give me a buzz on 070 1005 2141 to hear what we’re all about. Hackathon logo_0 Once again – we’re putting ourselves out there to develop real products and services that are relevant in the ever changing retail landscape in-line with consumer expectation. Although intense, this stuff is definitely fun and should benefit from the learnings we’ve gained through our own product development activities. With the rise of lab culture and start-up methodologies permeating through to mainstream retail, it’s fantastic to see the prevalence of hackathons, incubators, and crucially funding – essentially a real appetite to innovate and disrupt the retail sector. It’s a fantastic time for both the brands and the consumer. Watch this space, it’s going to get very interesting.
